After walking round on Red Tarn with crampons, we were to play on the snow slope just left of centre, coming down to the lake. We took to the slope and 3 of us and one leader climbed all the way up to the dip where Striding Edge (left) meets the rise to Helvellyn.

Having reached Striding Edge, this is looking back from the top to the far end of Red Tarn, where the previous photo was taken from.

A satisfied me on Striding Edge after an exciting (and unexpected) ice climb.
