No decent ice for crampons etc. Climbed to Hole in the Wall below Striding Edge to go over the top and practice navigation below Red Tarn. Slog up with ice blowing in face 

Having reached Hole in the Wall, stopped for a cosy lunch in snow holes.

Climbing back down to Glenridding for tea.
